Women's Volleyball Ready to Build on Last Season's Success

The Life Pacific University women's volleyball team enters the 2026 season with high expectations after an impressive campaign a year ago. Under Head Coach Liz Salas, the Warriors return a talented group of veterans while welcoming new faces, all with the goal of continuing to grow on and off the court.

For Salas, the team's focus starts with faith.

"My goal for this season is to always remember Christ needs to remain our reason for competing every day," Salas said. "He blessed us all with different gifts, and if we keep Him as our focus, we can be a strong team. I also want us to give our best every day, be a positive example for the future teams to come, and earn a spot in the GSAC Tournament."

The Warriors bring back a strong group led by seniors Harmony Kniss, Kelsey Gomarko, Abbey Oaks, Jadyn Armstrong, Tionn Wise, Shalini Caldera, Kendal Collins, Kate Smith, and Marlayina Masani. Sophomores Lingli Chum-Schultz, Allie Urquidies, Allana Munoz-Price, Samantha Durant, and Jaden Cardoso also return as the Warriors look to build on last season's success.

Rather than relying on one or two players, Salas believes the team's success will come from everyone contributing.

"The best part about our team and culture is that everyone needs to make an impact for us to be successful," Salas said. "We have an amazing group of returners that accomplished a lot last year, and I know this year, with the help of our new teammates, we can accomplish even more."

Building a competitive, Christ-centered culture continues to be a priority for the Warriors.

"I want our culture to be competitive and loving," Salas said. "Every person on this team is just as important as their teammate. When one person succeeds, we all succeed. I want us to represent 1 Corinthians 12:12—we are all different parts of the body, but we all work together for one purpose."

After exceeding expectations last season, the Warriors enter 2026 motivated to take the next step.

"Last season taught us that anyone can beat anyone in the GSAC," Salas said. "Our goal is to stay hungry for more while showing our student-athletes they can be successful on the court and still enjoy their college experience."

With an experienced roster, a strong team culture, and a shared commitment to one another, the Warriors look to build on last season's success as they begin the 2026 campaign. Life Pacific opens the season on Saturday, August 15, welcoming Westcliff University to the court for its season opener.
