Warriors Sweep Lions for First Win of Season

San Dimas, CA —  On Thursday, the Life Pacific Warriors (1-7, 0-7 GSAC) achieved their first win of the season and their first sweep in program history, with a 5-0 win over the Justice University Lions, with all 5 matchups finishing in straight sets.

 

 

The biggest single-set win of the matchup went to the #1 pairing of Jadyn Armstrong and Kate Murray, who only allowed 3 points in the second set, after squeaking out a 21-15 win in the first.  The #2 pairing of Marlayina Masani and Kendal Collins only allowed 17 points across both sets, winning 21-10 and 21-7.  Pairs 3 and 4 were much closer. The #3s were the first to finish of the day, as they won 21-15 and 21-11. The #4s, who were the last to finish on the day, won 21-16 and 21-13.  The #5 matchup was another blowout, as Mia Monge and Jane Costa took the first set 21-4, and kept the heat going with a 21-13 win in the second set.

 

 

With momentum, the LPU beach volleyball team prepares for another home game, where they will take on the #3 ranked The Master's University (8-4, 6-1 GSAC) on Saturday, 3/7 at noon.
