Five Different Warriors Score in Double-Digits in Victory Over WCB
San Dimas, CA - On Friday, the Warriors traveled to Lancaster to take on West Coast Baptist in a pre-season matchup. The Warriors were dominant from start to finish, as five different Warriors scored in double-digits and every player on the team scored. LPU won by a final score of 110-70, and with the win, improve to 5-0 on the season.
Albert Matute led the way for LPU on the scoring front, as he scored 24 points off of the bench. Kyler Villarreal continued his steady play, scoring 21 points and bringing down 9 rebounds. Ethan Galang scored an efficient 19 points while only taking 9 shots. Nathan Brummett scored his career high so far for LPU as he finished with 12 points off of the bench. Austin Cook flirted with a triple-double once again, finishing with 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists.
When reflecting on the team's victory, Coach Tim Cook stated, "This has always been a rivalry game for us, and I just have a lot of respect for their program and coaching staff. Our guys were really focused from the start of the game, and I thought our offensive execution was fantastic tonight. Our defense really carried us in the second half which helped us finish the game off strongly. It is just great to see us getting better every day."
