Warriors Roll Past Stanton for Second Straight Win, 91-73
San Dimas, Calif. — Life Pacific Men's basketball continued its strong early-season form Saturday night, earning a dominant 91–73 victory over Stanton University to improve to 3–1 on the season.
After a tight first half that saw the Warriors hold a slim 40–39 lead at the break, Life Pacific exploded offensively in the second half, outscoring Stanton 51–34 behind a balanced scoring attack and efficient shooting.
Five Warriors finished in double figures, led by Mac West's 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Josh Hardeman provided a major spark off the bench with 15 points, knocking down a perfect 4-for-4 from deep and 3-for-3 at the free-throw line.
Jayceon Smith filled the stat sheet with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Xerian Anderson added a double-double of his own, scoring 11 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Albert Matute rounded out the double-digit scorers with 12 points, connecting on 3-of-4 from three-point range.
As a team, the Warriors shot 50.8% from the field and a scorching 54.5% from three, while holding Stanton to just 18.8% from beyond the arc. Life Pacific's defensive pressure forced 18 turnovers, leading to 28 points off turnovers and 10 steals overall.
Defensively, Joby Barnes anchored the effort with 4 steals, while the Warriors turned up the intensity in the second half — limiting Stanton to 36.7% shooting and capitalizing in transition for 13 fast-break points.
Head Coach Evan Jenkins' squad continues to show growth and balance, with production coming from both the starting lineup and bench.
Life Pacific will look to keep the momentum rolling as they prepare for their next matchup in non-conference play.
