Warriors Storm Back to Win GSAC Opener in Overtime Over La Sierra

San Dimas, Calif. — Life Pacific men's basketball opened GSAC play with a statement on Thursday night, rallying from a double-digit second-half deficit to defeat La Sierra 78–69 in overtime. The win moves the Warriors to 7–3 overall and 1–0 in GSAC as they continue to build momentum early in conference play.

La Sierra controlled much of the early action and led by as many as 10 in the second half, but the Warriors refused to fold. Behind increased defensive pressure, timely rebounding, and a key stretch of made three-pointers, LPU slowly turned the tide. A late push — highlighted by big baskets from Xerian Anderson and Kyjuan Cannady — helped Life Pacific force overtime at 65–65.

Once the extra period began, the Warriors seized complete control. LPU outscored the Golden Eagles 13–4 in overtime, knocking down shots and locking down defensively while holding La Sierra to just one made field goal.

The Warriors were led by a standout performance from Xerian Anderson, who poured in 24 points and added nine rebounds and three steals. Kyjuan Cannady recorded a powerful double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds, while also knocking down momentum-shifting threes during the comeback.  Life Pacific also received a massive boost from Jordan Dollar, whose energy off the bench changed the complexion of the game. Dollar finished with 11 points and seven rebounds, including two clutch three-pointers that helped fuel the second-half surge.  Jayceon Smith nearly tallied a triple-double, posting 9 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists, orchestrating the offense through crucial stretches of regulation and overtime.  As a team, the Warriors knocked down 10 three-pointers, logged 18 assists, and committed just 8 turnovers. Their poise and resilience showed throughout the second half and into overtime as they secured their first GSAC victory of the season.
