Cannady Named GSAC Defensive Player of the Week
San Dimas, Calif. — Life Pacific University Athletics is proud to announce Kyjuan Cannady as the GSAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
Cannady earned this conference honor after delivering a standout performance in the Warriors' GSAC opener, where he filled the stat sheet with 18 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocks, while logging a full 40 minutes of action. His defensive presence and relentless energy were central to LPU's ability to control the tempo and secure key stops throughout the night, fueling their second-half comeback.
Across the season, Cannady has emerged as one of the GSAC's most impactful two-way contributors. Through 10 games, he is averaging 12.1 points per game while shooting an efficient 50.5% from the field, and he anchors the Warriors defensively with 5.4 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game. His ability to guard multiple positions, disrupt passing lanes, and finish possessions on the glass has made him a consistent difference-maker.
Cannady's conference performance reflects the level of intensity he has brought all year. With his leadership and defensive discipline, he continues to set the tone for a Warrior team aiming to build momentum as GSAC play progresses.
