Warriors Roll Past Nobel University in 90-65 Victory
San Dimas, CA - The Life Pacific men's basketball team delivered a complete performance on Friday afternoon, earning a convincing 90–65 victory over Nobel University on Mehl Court.
The Warriors set the tone early and never looked back, building a 49–28 halftime advantage behind efficient offense and relentless defense. Life Pacific shot 47.5 percent from the field in the first half and controlled the interior, finishing the game with a 58–34 edge in points in the paint.
Jayceon Smith led all scorers with 17 points while also pulling down 11 rebounds to record a double-double in just 25 minutes of action. Mac West followed with 16 points, knocking down three three-pointers and adding four steals on the defensive end. Joby Barnes and Kyjuan Cannady each chipped in 12 points, as Life Pacific placed four players in double figures.
The Warriors' defensive pressure was a major factor throughout the contest. Life Pacific forced 16 Nobel turnovers and converted them into 19 points, while also tallying nine steals and seven blocked shots as a team. Braxton Williams anchored the paint defensively with three blocks, helping limit Nobel to just 35.0 percent shooting for the game.
Life Pacific also won the rebounding battle, 47–43, and capitalized on second-chance opportunities, scoring 20 points off offensive rebounds. Despite Nobel attempting to stay close at the free-throw line, the Warriors' balance and depth proved too much to overcome.
With the win, Life Pacific heads into Christmas break with an overall record of 9-4 and stand at 1-1 in GSAC play.
