Men's Wrestling Battle Against Firestorm from ACU

Prescott, AZ - On Friday evening, the Warriors traveled to Arizona to take on their Conference opponent, Arizona Christian, in a dual. The Warriors traveled and were plagued with injuries heading into the trip, so they did not wrestle their entire team. The Firestorm did a good job capitalizing on that and defeated the short-handed Warriors by a team-score of 45-5. The Warriors will be back on the mats tomorrow as they wrestle in duals against NCAA DI opponent, Grand Canyon, and Ottawa University - AZ.

The match highlight for the Warriors was the performance of Aram Zavala, who represented the Warriors at the 157 weight class. Aram was dominant on the mat from start to finish, as he had multiple take-downs on his opponent. With the fast start, he was able to build a sizeable lead and got the tech fall in the first period, 18-2. This was the lone victory for the Warriors in the dual, but was an impressive showing by the sophomore wrestler out of El Centro, California.

The Warriors have another opportunity to compete tomorrow afternoon as both the Men's and Women's Wrestling teams will be competing against Grand Canyon University and OUAZ in duals.
