Warriors Battle the Oaks in CCC Duals

San Dimas, CA - On Saturday morning, the Warrior's Women's and Men's Wrestling programs took on Menlo in a home conference dual on Mehl Court. With LPU battling multiple injuries on both the men's and women's sides, they had to forfeit multiple weight classes. The final scores for the duals were: Women's Wrestling (0-55) / Men's Wrestling (3-48).

The Warrior's day was highlighted by the job that Jeremiah Smith did on the mat against one of the top 197 lb. wrestlers in the conference, Hunter James from Menlo. Smith and James were battling from the beginning and Hunter James was able to take an early 6-4 lead after the first period with three take-downs on Jeremiah. They wrestled even in the second period, but Jeremiah came out with a vengeance in the third period and was able to steal the match late with a reversal with 15 seconds remaining. This solidified the lone victory for the Warriors on the day. Samantha Barragan and Isaac Kephart also put together strong performances on the mat as they battled closely against their nationally ranked opponents.
