Warriors Earn First-Ever Win Over La Verne Behind Explosive Offensive Night, Improve to 4–1

San Dimas, Calif. — Life Pacific Women's Basketball earned its first-ever victory over the University of La Verne, breaking a five-year drought against the Leopards with a dominant 78–56 win at home. The victory moves the Warriors to 4–1 on the season and continues their early-season momentum.

 

After a slow first quarter, the Warriors erupted with back-to-back 25-point quarters in the second and third periods, outscoring La Verne 50–25 over that stretch. LPU shot a blistering 52% from the field and 58.8% from three (10-for-17), turning one of their most efficient offensive performances into a comfortable victory.


 

Balanced Scoring Leads the Way

 

Five Warriors scored in double figures, showcasing the depth and tempo of this year's roster.

 

  • Adrianna Torres led all LPU scorers with 18 points, knocking down 4-of-5 from deep, while adding 3 assists and 2 steals.

  • Kailey New delivered another standout two-way performance with 17 points, 5 rebounds, and a perfect 3 blocks, shooting an efficient 5-of-8 from the floor.

  • Sophia Abella provided a major spark off the bench, pouring in 13 points while going 2-for-3 from beyond the arc.

  • Ebony Cooper was strong inside with 11 points, 3 rebounds, and a pair of key buckets that fueled LPU's third-quarter surge.

  • Rachel Spinosa stuffed the stat sheet with 8 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds, setting the tone on both ends of the floor.


 

Winning the Hustle Stats

 

Life Pacific controlled nearly every major statistical category:

  • 44–34 rebounding advantage

  • 21 assists on 26 made field goals

  • 34 bench points

  • Held La Verne to 29.7% shooting and just 18.8% from three


 

A Statement Win

 

After trailing by eight in the first quarter, the Warriors flipped the game completely, outscoring La Verne by 22 points the rest of the way. Their defensive pressure, ball movement, and depth overwhelmed the Leopards throughout the final three quarters.

 

The Warriors continue their homestand looking to build on their 4–1 start and carry their momentum into the heart of their non-conference slate.
