Warriors Withstand Firestorm Late Push
San Dimas, CA - Life Pacific earned a hard-fought 69–67 victory over Arizona Christian on the strength of a fast start, balanced scoring, and clutch execution down the stretch. The Warriors controlled much of the contest, built a sizable early lead, and withstood a late push from the Firestorm to secure the win.
Life Pacific set the tone immediately, opening the game with relentless defensive pressure that fueled an extended first-quarter run. The Warriors forced multiple turnovers early, turning steals from Ebony Cooper and Rachel Spinosa into quick offense. Behind efficient ball movement and perimeter shooting, Life Pacific outscored Arizona Christian 24–6 in the opening quarter, highlighted by three-pointers from Kailey New, Ysabel Puente, Adrianna Torres, and Faith Harris. The defensive effort limited the Firestorm to just six points in the first 10 minutes, giving Life Pacific a commanding early advantage.
The momentum continued into the second quarter as the Warriors pushed the lead to as many as 26 points. Puente was active attacking the basket, while Sophia Abella orchestrated the offense, consistently setting up teammates for quality looks. Life Pacific went into halftime leading 38–14 after holding Arizona Christian to just 14 points in the first half, forcing turnovers and controlling the glass.
Arizona Christian responded in the third quarter with increased pressure and offensive aggression, trimming into the deficit all the way down to 3.
The fourth quarter turned into a tightly contested battle as Arizona Christian continued to chip away. After briefly taking a one-point lead midway through the period, Life Pacific answered with a crucial three-pointer from Spinosa and strong finishes from Puente to regain control. In the closing minute, Abella knocked down a clutch three-pointer to give the Warriors breathing room, and Spinosa sealed the game at the free-throw line with 15 seconds remaining.
Puente led all scorers with 21 points on an efficient 9-for-13 shooting, adding four rebounds and providing consistent offense throughout the game. Abella finished with 11 points, three assists, and timely shooting late, while Torres also scored 11 points, knocking down three triples. Spinosa added 10 points and two assists off the bench, and Cooper contributed eight points, four rebounds, and two steals. The Warriors shot 49.1 percent from the field and connected on 10 three-pointers, while forcing 16 turnovers on the defensive end.
Life Pacific's ability to establish an early rhythm, respond to momentum swings, and execute in critical moments proved to be the difference as the Warriors closed out a gritty conference victory.
