Puente Makes History with GSAC All-Conference Selection

San Dimas, CA – The Great Southwest Athletic Conference announced its 2025-26 Women's Basketball All-Conference selections this week, and Life Pacific University's Ysabel Puente was recognized among the conference's elite. The sohpomore guard delivered a standout season for the Warriors, playing a pivotal role in helping Life Pacific University set a new program record for wins and continue its rise within the GSAC.  This marks the first time in Life Pacific Women's Basketball history that a player has received this honor.

#22 Ysabel Puente – Sophomore Guard

Puente established herself as one of the top offensive players in the conference, finishing 2nd in the GSAC in scoring during conference play with 16.4 points per game. She also made her presence felt on the glass, averaging 6.2 rebounds per game, ranking 9th in the conference, showcasing her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor.

Her efficiency was equally impressive, as she shot 46.5% from the field while connecting on 35% from beyond the arc, the 3rd-best three-point percentage in the GSAC. Puente's ability to score at all three levels made her one of the most difficult matchups in the conference all season.

Down the stretch, Puente elevated her play even further. She scored 20 or more points in seven of the Warriors' final 10 games, leading the charge during a historic run for the program. Her most notable performance came last week against La Sierra University, when she recorded a dominant 24-point, 10-rebound double-double, helping secure the program's record-breaking win total.

Puente's consistency, leadership, and ability to perform in crucial moments were instrumental in the Warriors' success this season. Her All-Conference selection reflects not only her individual excellence but also the continued growth and momentum of the Life Pacific Women's Basketball program.

When asked to reflect on Ysa's historic season, Coach Kyler Kennedy stated, "Ysa is one of the hardest workers our program has ever had.  She spends countless extra hours in the weight room, in the gym, and on the shooting gun.  Her All-Conference selection did not happen on accident, rather is the compount effect of her character, resilience, and work-ethic.  Her coaches and teammates love her and are so proud of her!!"
