Warriors Dominate Benedictine Mesa 8–2

Glendora, Calif. — The Life Pacific University women's soccer team continued its regular season in dominant fashion, cruising to an 8–2 victory over Benedictine Mesa (AZ) on Thursday afternoon at Citrus College. The Warriors' attack exploded for 30 shots — including 21 on target — while six different players recorded either a goal or assist in one of the team's most complete offensive performances of the year.

The win lifts Life Pacific to 9–8 overall and 5–7 in GSAC play.

Senior forward Brianna Figueroa was at the center of it all once again, contributing to four goals on the afternoon with one goal and three assists, bringing her season totals to 11 goals and a GSAC-leading 17 assists. Stevie Spencer and Angela Scott each tallied two goals apiece, while Alexa Monge added a brace of her own with two second-half finishes.

Life Pacific set the tone early when Spencer opened the scoring in the 9th minute on a setup from Figueroa. After Benedictine Mesa equalized briefly, the Warriors responded with a flurry — Figueroa (41') and Spencer (45') each found the net before halftime to make it 3–1.

The second half belonged entirely to the Warriors. Hannah Gonzales (51') extended the lead before Scott scored twice in three minutes (61', 64') off assists from Nancy Hinojosa, who also recorded a pair of helpers. Monge closed the match with two goals of her own (67', 88'), both assisted by Figueroa and Isabella Lara, respectively.

Defensively, Valerie Lopez turned in another steady performance, making three saves in her ninth win of the year. LPU dominated possession and set pieces, holding Benedictine Mesa to just seven total shots and one corner kick.
