San Dimas, CA - The Life Pacific men's basketball team pulled out a gritty 64–60 victory over the #19 team in the nation, Benedictine University Mesa on Thursday night, leaning on balanced scoring, strong rebounding, and timely shot-making by Mac West to close out the win.
The Warriors set the tone early behind their interior presence and defensive activity. Ayden Hamilton was active from the opening tip, finishing efficiently inside while controlling the glass. Jayceon Smith added a steady presence in the backcourt, scoring and facilitating as Life Pacific built momentum in the opening minutes. Mac West gave the Warriors an early boost from beyond the arc, knocking down three first-half triples to stretch the defense.
Life Pacific's defense played a key role throughout the first half, forcing 17 turnovers on the night while limiting Benedictine Mesa's second-chance opportunities. Braxton Williams anchored the paint with six rebounds and two blocks, while the Warriors collectively won the rebounding battle, 43–34.
